I am writing this article because people are experiencing so much sadness, overwhelm and distress about the current events in Japan and other countries affected by natural and manmade disasters. It is my intention to offer a different perspective to facilitate greater awareness, insight and understanding of why things are happening.

There is no reason to be fearful about the current events or what is about to happen because this will only lower the collective vibrational energy on the planet, which will aid those that seek to destroy so much of humanity.

A friend of mine from Christchurch was contemplating why he was so lucky and still alive after the recent earthquake in Christchurch and wondered how he could express his gratitude and make a difference with his life, which must have been spared for a reason.

Friends of mine in Japan were able to fly to England physically unaffected by the recent disasters in Japan. They perceived themselves as extremely lucky, giving thanks to everyone who had prayed for them. Yet it is not those prayers that assured their safe landing in England. Let me explain what I mean.

If we can shift our perspective to our higher self, we can understand that our soul has chosen to incarnate during these times to experience the vast devastation and the precursors of 2012 and beyond.

We are the ones that we have been waiting, we are the saviours. We are powerful, creative, spiritual beings incarnated at this time on this planet Earth to experience the current events and the changes to come. Why are some spared and praise God with gratitude for their saving and others curse God for their loss? It has nothing to do with savings or loss, because from a higher perspective we have all chosen our life lessons and our destiny before we incarnated. So whatever disasters have happen to us have been decided and no amount of prayer at the lower level of consciousness can change this.

How does this fit in with free will? I was given the image of a CD Rom game. The whole game with all the levels and characters and rules of interaction and its millions of possibilities and outcomes is already created by us before birth. During our life it is the second by second decisions we make that determine the path we follow and ultimately the outcome. Some people are good players, others are not so good. What if you loose the game? What do you normally do? You start all over. You simply incarnate again and have another go. My friends had a choice to stay in Japan or to leave. Their higher selves had chosen to create a support network around them – both in terms of emotional support and financial ability - that would share insights and help them to make the decision to leave. Their next choice is to decide whether or not to return to Japan. Once again, they have chosen to be surrounded by people who can help them make that choice. How they respond to those people and their advice is up to them.

This CD Rom game analogy explains perfectly how fate, destiny and free will can and in fact do all exist at the same time. So what I am saying is that there is no luck and we really create our own destiny – in part before birth: which major events we choose to experience – and then through our moment to moment decisions in response to those events.

Now because there is no luck and because we are the creators of our destiny, what do you think this means in relation to prayers?

I’m going to write something, which may appear controversial, especially coming from the daughter of a late priest who was brought up and conditioned to believe in the power of prayer. Many of you may initially disagree with me for what I am about to write may challenge the very core of your religious and spiritual beliefs. I invite you to try on the proposed concept even if it goes against everything you have been ‘taught’ and have chosen to believe as a result.

All prayers create separation, disempowerment and are fear based. Why? Prayers are disempowering because by praying to an external source you create separation and deny the fact that We Are All One.  If we are all one then we are God, then we are the Creator creating our own reality. So by praying to an external Source you deny yourself of any power to influence and shape your life, because you think life happens to you. We are the Creator and much has been written about this and the Law of Attraction.

Many people are aware of this notion, have read it somewhere and understand it on some level but do not follow its logic through to the end because it goes against the indoctrination of the religion that has externalised God to find a way to control the masses with fear. The other reason it can’t be followed through is because the Law of Attraction is not the complete picture. For a law to be a law, it must be reproducible and happen one hundred percent of the time, which does not account for people who are peaceful yet have violence enacted on them. Therefore, the Law of Attraction is not a law, more of an optional sub-clause of a true law: the Law of Manifestation.

Prayers are fear based because most of the time people pray for something they don’t have or fear they might loose: such as peace, safety or money. This type of prayer does not allow the possibility of the higher self creating conflicts for the purpose of awakening and learning and of presenting people with the necessary challenges they need to grow. Since prayers are out of fear or a feeling of lack, this is what they attract more of. The only exception are prayers of gratitude which express a state of being.

I read an article this morning by a Law of Attraction Marketing Expert, who is experiencing the conflict between prayer and the Laws of Attraction. She knows that we create our reality not by what we do but by what we think and feel. As you know, our thoughts and feelings carry a certain vibrational frequency, which in turn attracts events and people into our life who vibrate on that same frequency. Many people have manifested their fears instead of the outcome they desired. This means that being devastated by the many earthquakes, tsunamis and nuclear threats will increase their frequency and worsen their effect, because our fears will create many more events resonating with that low fear vibration.

Now the Law of Attraction Expert was stuck between her conditioned belief about prayers and her knowledge of the Law of Attraction and she tried to resolve this conflict as follows:

“Prayer, as I see it, is a surrender to the divine in us, an acknowledgment that our individual willpower is not enough and we need to open to a greater power – to our Source.” This statement is written from the lower, human perspective, which can be limiting because once you remember that you are the divine, there is no need to surrender to it, for why would you surrender to yourself? Creating a divine within, implicitly creates a divine without and thus not only creates separation between your higher and your human self, but also between you and the world. Simply connect to your divine and know that this is who you really are.

Our individual will power is never enough, because we cannot ‘will’ things into being and because it would superimpose on the free will of others. We can only be at a certain frequency and then attract events to us that are in alignment with that frequency. It is a simple matter of cause and effect. We cannot ‘will’ ourselves to change our frequency, but we can let go of our fears and enter into a state of love thereby instigating a shift.

The problem is that people see themselves as either here or there whilst the reality is that you are everything. So if they want to shift their frequency they create separation. When you understand that you are All That Is – like a beam of white light understands that it is all colours simultaneously – you don’t have to shift anything, you can just focus on a different aspect. If you want to vibrate at the lower end of the spectrum, i.e. be red, you filter out all others. If you want to vibrate at the higher end of the spectrum you filter out the lower end and become purple. But when you understand that you are All, you shine as white light. It is not about raising your vibrational energy at all, it is about embracing all frequencies, otherwise you deny parts of who you are.

Will power seems to imply that if we want something strong enough and push over enough hurdles, then it will come to us. But this is not the case. When I tried to make it as a theatre director in London all those years ago, I was doing a lot of things, willing my career into being. But all the universe responded to was my fear of not surviving, my fear of not being good enough and my fear of getting bad reviews. The Law of Manifestation manifests whatever is in alignment with the energy behind the intent of becoming successful, in my case it was fear. If the Law of Attraction was true, my internal state prevented me from attracting the opportunities I desired. However, once we shift to higher self perspective: my higher self blocked me from being successful on a pathway I was not meant go on and opened another pathway that was in alignment with my higher purpose.

At that time, I was not ready to let go of my fears nor did I know how. So will is never enough, it is not what creates our emotional state. Opening up to our Source, to our Higher Self, to the infinite love that we are will mean that we can tap into the abundance of this universe and can see the ‘devastating’ events from that higher perspective with the understanding that a) they are created by the collective consciousness in its infinite wisdom and b) they are challenges to awaken people to who they truly are, blessings in disguise creating opportunities for change and growth. It is only in times of crisis that we can truly see what we are made of, which reminds me of the Chinese sign for crisis. It consists of two symbols: danger and opportunity leading to the saying: every crisis is an opportunity in disguise.

All creation must come from a changing of the status quo. To create anew the existing must be deconstructed. Only through the changing of the old can the new emerge, which means the old seizes to exist. Some would view that as destruction. But from a higher perspective we understand that there is no destruction, only recycling and recombining to form higher states.

‘What about the studies that show the successful results of prayers?’ I hear you ask. The fact that some prayers come true and are so called answered doesn’t take into account the millions of prayers that are not. This means that we can conclude that prayers in themselves are not the reason for something to happen.

Take the cancer patient for example. So many people with cancer die despite their prayers to God and their family and friends’ prayers to God because the prayers themselves unconsciously express their fear of death. Praying for anyone else imposes on their free will and the desires of their higher self. Even if you have been asked to pray for someone, them getting what they’ve asked for because of your prayer would affect another person.

Furthermore, if the answer of prayers was to be left up to an external God, we would not have free will. But we are free to change our thoughts and feelings by letting go of fear. Let me repeat: manifestation is a simple matter of cause and effect: whatever we desire is out there but if our personal radio is tuned into a certain frequency, that station is not only all we can listen to but all we can broadcast. We have to change the station to a higher frequency first before we can receive whatever that frequency has to offer. As we sow, so shall we reap. Ultimately, we tune into all channels at the same time and we broadcast on all frequencies, because this is All That Is.

Some events happen because of the course of the universe. The moon will wax and wane, the tide responds through ebb and flow, these are event that happen, where you choose to be when they happen and how you choose to respond is up to you.

Whether you are killed in an earthquake or survive, comes down to your individual CD Rom game and your frequency at the time. Do you take a sicky that day a plane flies into the World Trade Centre? Do you leave your passport at home and miss your plane that subsequently crashes killing all on board? Are you found alive in the gravel nine days after the tsunami hit?

We are entering into a time with major shifts on the planet. This has been set in stone eons ago and the Mayan’s and other cultures have written about 2012. How 2012 and its precursors are going to play out was not set in stone because it is a response to the collective consciousness of humans on the planet right now. This means that the severity of earthquakes and the extent of the devastation is created in response to the collective consciousness and its frequency.

Your individual consciousness and frequency determines where you are when these disasters happen and how they will affect you. It has nothing to do with luck, just cause and effect. The more you pray to avoid disaster, the more you put energy into the duality that creates it in the first place.

We are the ones that we have been waiting for. There is no external saviour. We are it. We are all incarnated in this life right now! So the best thing we can do in these times is to shift our perspective to our higher self where we know that we have chose to experience whatever is happening. If enough people learn to live without fear, connected to their hearts and in a state of love for themselves, other people and the planet, then we will be able to create the best antidote to all the disasters. So each and every one of us can affect the change. Prayers can’t, love and gratitude can. So choose love, compassion and gratitude. As Wayne Dwyer points out, the good news is that those with high vibrational energy can balance out those who carry lower frequencies. A fully awakened being like Mother Theresa can counteract the low vibration of about one hundred thousand people. So what can you do to make a difference? Be happy. Be in a state of love. Get out of your head and into your heart and just be.
